he would often tells the animals, 'i love you.'

100+ hours of raw film show an un-armed man stroking the backs

of grown foxes, and nudging the noses of 9ft tall grizzy bears.

completely and inexplicably devoted to what he calls protecting the

bears he grew so fond of, loved, and eventually died for, its no wonder

some suggest when it came these giant creatures, timothy treadwell met his match. even at the time of his death, in an unreleased audio taping of his tragic demise at the teeth of one particular bear, timothy still screams to "run away," begging his then (late) girlfriend to stop striking at the animal

as it sank its teeth and ripped them apart over the course of just six minutes.

for 13 summers, deep in the alaskan peninsula, this man and so many others

risked their lives and died alone in the wilderness, defending their values and

basking on the slippery slope of hope they would make it out of the bush alive.

unfortunately, he was not so lucky. i sat quietly tonight remembering his sad tale and revisiting my own experience in the cold frigid winds of Ketchikan, Alaska...thinking to myself..well, what a lucky dude. hopefully one day i can see some of the things he's seen.

dear sky, don't leave

i have always considered myself lucky. the sky is the most beautiful thing, we are lucky enough to experience this in our little lives.

its vast canvas, constantly changing, manifesting its brilliant light for every living thing, is in all honesty, a gift to our eyes. we take it for granted sometimes, which is fair, since its always hanging above us. we forget to notice. we are surrounded by the greatest painting ever made.

if you ask me, i like when it's like disappearing cotton candy. pink and red patterns. violet hues like water colors caught in a camera lens as a back drop to a beautiful photo..penetrating time.
